Media Denounced for Ignoring Christian Genocide

The Daily Mail editor Piers Morgan criticized mainstream media for not giving enough attention to Egypt, particularly the bombings of two Coptic churches during the Holy Week, Catholic Herald reports.

Morgan told Fox News that terror attacks in European cities such as Paris, Nice, London and Stockholm got wide media attention but those in Egypt did not. He said what happened on Egypt’s Coptic Christians was “unbelievably significant” and shouldn’t have been ignored by media.

“If you look at what ISIS really stands for, what they are carrying out now in the Middle East and in Egypt in particular, is a kind of genocidal attack on Christians and Christianity,” he said.

“If you look at what ISIS really stands for, what they are carrying out now in the Middle East and in Egypt in particular, is a kind of genocidal attack on Christians and Christianity,” he said.

The British journalist warned that the extremist group wants to annihilate Christians and abolish Christianity completely. ISIS issued a statement following the suicide bombing of a subway in St. Petersburg and it confirmed Morgan’s fears.

“They made it absolutely clear, this is a war against the cross. They said that,” Morgan told Fox’s Tucker Carlson.

“They are at war in their heads with Christianity. Not just with Christianity, they are at war with all other religions as well. But they have been signaling out in increasingly virulent terms that their real war now is against Christians and the cross.”

However, media is ignoring this threat to the world’s largest religion.

Morgan claimed that ISIS’ war on Christianity deserved great media attention. Headlines should have been about the militant group’s declaration of war and yet, “I’m not seeing that being covered enough,” he said.
