Franklin Graham Slams Abortion-themed Ice Cream

Evangelist Franklin Graham called a new abortion-themed ice cream “disgusting” as the custom-made dessert hit the shelves in Oregon on August 16, 2018.

Advocacy group NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon has partnered with an ice cream shop, What’s the Scoop?, to create a limited-edition ice cream flavor. The ‘Rocky Roe v. Wade’ flavor is named after a famous 1973 Supreme Court case which legalized most abortions in the country, reports Premier.

These activists want everyone to believe abortion is a choice or a woman’s right – even something to celebrate. But it’s not. Abortion is murdering a child in its mother’s womb. —Franklin Graham

NARAL said the sales of the ice cream will help “defend reproductive freedom.” The organization urged the public to immediately buy a pint of the ice cream as it will be only sold until August 26.

Graham was angered by NARAL’s latest stunt, calling it “absolutely frantic.” In a social media post, the evangelist wrote: “These activists want everyone to believe abortion is a choice or a woman’s right – even something to celebrate. But it’s not. Abortion is murdering a child in its mother’s womb. The Bible says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good and good evil…’ (Isaiah 5:20).”

Pro-life observers joined Graham in condemning “Rocky Roe v. Wade,” reports LifeSiteNews.

Portland-based policy consultant and advisor, Jonathan Lockwood, said, “I thought I was pro-choice when I came to Oregon, but after seeing first-hand how insidious this far-left agenda has become I am embarrassed to call myself pro-choice.”

Patrick Madrid of Relevant Radio called NARAL’s ice cream “the flavor of death.”

Many people have lambasted pro-abortion groups and personalities for trivializing a very sensitive and grave issue. Pro-lifers criticized a contraceptive advertisement using the line “safely f*** whoever the f*** we want” and a comedian who joked about abortion.

Pro-life activists in Oregon hope to ban taxpayer funding of abortion through a ballot initiative this fall.
